I can hear the exact moment I hit sixth grade.

The greatest part of this is gradually beginning to recognize more and more songs

It was all nice songs and suddenly “HEY, LOOK AT THAT THANG! YOU GOT A NICE PACKAGE GONNA RIDE IT TONIGHT” and i totally lost it like what

OMG I STARTED RECOGNIZING EVERY SINGLE SONG JUST BEFORE HALF THE TRACK. OH GOSH nostalgia much ;n;

THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY

So I took the time to count how many of the songs I knew (because it’s 2am, don’t judge) and I know 159 of these songs. As a person born in 1993 this is literally the best post on tumblr. I can remember listening to the really old ones with my mom in the car. I can picture ex boyfriends, and school dances, and mix cds my friends made me and when Kelly Clarkson won American Idol in 2002 and dancing with my sister in the living room, and how into music I was in 8th grade. 1993 to 2011 puts me from birth to my freshman year in college and literally almost made me cry. I just relived my whole entire fucking life right now, and now I’m ready to turn 20 in June. Because music matters.

This is incredible! I miss all of these songs I recognized :( also I was watching Pitch Perfect earlier and a few of these were on it and I guess it didn’t register to me until I heard them on here :)
